Officially Recognized by New York DCWP

Recently, MCM successfully passed the rigorous review of the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) and has become an officially recognized compliance testing laboratory for micromobility devices and battery products. With years of experience providing professional battery testing services, MCM is able to support manufacturers in meeting both local and international safety requirements.

With fire incidents involving e-bikes, e-scooters, and other micromobility devices occurring frequently, New York City enacted Local Law 39 of 2023. This regulation sets clear and strict requirements for the sale, lease, and rental of micromobility devices and their batteries. It mandates that all related products must be tested by a recognized laboratory and comply with safety standards from Underwriters Laboratories (UL), such as UL 2849 (e-bikes), UL 2272 (personal e-mobility devices), and UL 2271 (light electric vehicle batteries). In addition, the logo or name of the recognized testing laboratory must be displayed on the product, packaging, or documentation.

As an officially recognized DCWP testing laboratory, MCM can provide one-stop compliance testing services for e-bikes, e-scooters, and other micromobility devices and their batteries, helping your products enter the U.S. market quickly and smoothly.

As one of the trusted certification companies in the field, MCM not only offers independent evaluations but also develops tailored battery test solutions that help clients accelerate product launches while ensuring full compliance. This recognition further strengthens MCM’s role as a global partner for safe and reliable energy storage products.
