According to the amendments made on February 25, 2026 to the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) issued new rules for certificate fee payment on May 27, 2026. The new provisions take effect from the date of publication.

Manufacturers applying for fresh registration or licence renewal after May 27, 2026 shall keep track of the payment due date and pay the annual fee on time each year to avoid invalidation of the licence.
