Recently, Amazon Australia has clarified a mandatory compliance control list for household appliances powered by rechargeable lithium batteries sold or sourced through its platform. All regulated household appliances must be tested by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory and be supported by a complete test report with full testing data.

Cleaning: vacuum cleaners, robot vacuum cleaners, floor washers, steam cleaners
Kitchen: blenders, juicers, food processors, slicers, meat grinders, grinders/mills, electric knives, milk frothers, electricsalt/pepper grinders
Environmental/Air:air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, desktop/camping/garage/patio fans
Personal Care: heated styling brushes, curling irons, hair straighteners, hair dryers
Standard Requirements:
The lithium battery packs/cells used in the controlled household appliances must comply with the following applicable standards and requirements.
One of the following:
IEC/EN 62133-2 (Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes – Safety requirements for portable sealed secondary cells and batteries for use in portable applications – Part 2: Lithium systems),or;
IEC/EN 62619 (Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes – Safety requirements for secondary lithium cells and batteries for use in industrial applications)
as well as

Important Notes: All test reports and supporting documents submitted to Amazon must clearly indicate a result of “Pass” or “Not Applicable.” Results showing “Fail,” or “Non-compliant,” or “Does not conform,” or leaving the result field blank will not be accepted.
