▍Why MCM?

● The initiator of UN38.3 in the transportation field in China;

International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) is the most significant rule of maritime dangerous goods transport, which plays an important role in safeguarding the transport of shipborne dangerous goods and preventing the pollution of marine environment. International Maritime Organization (IMO) makes an amendment on IMDG CODE every two years. The new edition of IMDG CODE (41-22) will be implemented from January 1st, 2023. There is a 12-month transitional period from January 1st, 2023 to December 31st, 2023. The following is the comparison between IMDG CODE 2022 (41-22) and IMDG CODE 2020 (40-20).2.9.4.7 : Add the no-testing profile of the button battery. Except for the button batteries installed in the equipment (including the circuit board), the manufacturers and the subsequent distributors whose cells and batteries are produced after June 30, 2023 shall provide the testing profile regulated by Manual of Tests and Standards-Part III, Chapter 38.3, Section 38.3.5. Part P003/P408/P801/P903/P909/P910 of the package instruction adds that authorized net mass of the pack can surpass 400kg.Part P911 of the packing instruction (applicable to damaged or deficient batteries transported as per UN 3480/3481/3090/3091) adds new specific description of package usage. Package description shall at least include the following: labels of the batteries and the equipment in the pack, maximum quantity of the batteries and maximum amount of the battery energy and the configuration in the pack (including the separator and the fuse used in performance verification test). Additional requirements are the maximum quantity of the batteries, the equipment, total maximum energy and configuration in the pack (including the separator and the fuse of the components).Lithium battery mark: Cancel the requirement of displaying UN numbers on lithium battery mark.
