▍SIRIM Certification

SIRIM is a former Malaysia standard and industry research institute. It is a company wholly-owned by Malaysian Minister of Finance Incorporated. It was consigned by Malaysian government to work as a national organization in charge of standard and quality management, and push the development of Malaysian industry and technology. SIRIM QAS, as the subsidiary company of SIRIM, is the only gateway for testing, inspection and certification in Malaysia.

At present rechargeable lithium batteries certification is still voluntary in Malaysia. But it is said to become mandatory in the future, and will be under management of KPDNHEP, the trading and consumer affair department of Malaysia.

▍Why MCM?

● Established a good technical exchange and information exchange channel with SIRIM QAS who assigned a specialist to handle with MCM projects and inquiries only and to share the latest precisely information of this area.

● SIRIM QAS recognizes MCM testing data so that samples can be tested in MCM instead of delivering to Malaysia.

● To provide one-stop service for Malaysian certification of batteries, adapters and mobile phones.

SIRIM, formerly known as the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), is a corporate organisation owned wholly by the Malaysian Government, under the Minister of Finance Incorporated. It has been entrusted by the Malaysian Government to be the national organisation for standards and quality, and as a promoter of technological excellence in the Malaysian industry. SIRIM QAS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIRIM Group, becomes the only window for all testing, inspection and certification in Malaysia. Currently secondary lithium battery is certified on a voluntary basis, but soon it will be mandated under the supervised of The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, abbreviated KPDNHEP (formly known as KPDNKK).
MCM is in close contact with SIRIM and KPDNHEP (Malaysia’s Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs). A person in SIRIM QAS is specially assigned to handle MCM’s projects and share the most accurate and authentic information with MCM in a timely manner.SIRIM QAS accepts MCM’s testing data and can conduct witness testing at MCM without sending samples to Malaysia.MCM can provide clients with one-stop service by making integrated solutions for the certification of batteries, adapters and host products in Malaysia.
